I'd like to retrieve the older messages from a message board in my RSS Reader. For example, if I choose the "Older" link on http://messages.finance.yahoo.com/mb/YHO... I can scroll back though old messages. I'd like to do this using RSS - any ideas?
Using an RSS Reader, how can I access the "older" messages from Yahoo Message Board.?
nope! all rss feeds are just the latest news.
a rss feed could carry full contents... but most 'feeders' like to keep them small!

What is RSS feed?
I have come to notice RSS feed frequently on the net. What does it mean? what is its use? And how do I RSS feed?
What is RSS feed?
It's another method for a website publisher to delivery content to readers. Instead of you visiting a site all the time to see if new content is available, the publisher creates a RSS feed that tells your feed reader what is new. If you watch a number of sites, RSS can really reduce the time you navigate to all these sites.
Not all sites have RSS feeds. The publisher also has a lot of discretion as to what they can put in the feed. You would need to "subscribe" to this feed with a "feed reader". There are a number around such as Google Reader, FeedDemon, Bloglines, NewsGator and so on.

Reply:go to google and type rss feed

How does RSS created?
how does RSS created??
can anyone explain the whole creation of RSS, from begining to the end?
How does RSS created?
RSS feeds are like transmitting content from its original website to your doorstep (a feed reader). The point of using RSS is to aggregate content together in one place so that you don't have to go to dozens of different URLs to read headlines and updates from your favorite newspapers, blogs, websites, etc.
Use Google Reader, Bloglines or one of the other many feed readers out there to get all that content together in one place for your convenience. Sorry only answered for the points %26gt;.%26gt; and that's how to use it
Reply:The easiest way to create an RSS feed is to use software. The software I would recommend is FeedForAll (there is a Windows and a Mac version). There is a built-in wizard that will walk you through the process of creating a feed.
You can download an evaluation version from http://www.feedforall.com
If you prefer to create the feed by hand this website details how to hand code the RSS feed http://www.make-rss-feeds.com
Best of luck!

Use an RSS feed on a web page?
I need to add a RSS feed to a web page for a class. It is possible for me to do this in any number of ways; I just need to know how to go about it. I know there are websites that already have this functionality, but that is not what I need. I need to create the website that does this.
Some other random questions that are related:
Are there any Java applets that can easily be placed in the background of a page to aggregate RSS feeds?
Is PHP the only way to do this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Use an RSS feed on a web page?
There's two things here: RSS feeds and a scripting language to make them dynamic (if that's something you need).
RSS is simply a type of XML, formatted in a specific way. I believe you already have an answer that links to the w3c doc on the format.
Now a static RSS feed is pretty boring. If you were just announcing shows for you band or something like that, then a static RSS feed (which is just a text file) is probably fine. But if you want to publish full news stories, top 10 charts for popular links on you site, or anything that changes on a regular basis, that's where you'll need a scripting language (like PHP, ASP, etc.).
In PHP you can output XML by sending the appropriate headers. I have no idea how technical you are so I won't go into further detail, but if you'd like further advice, you can usually find decent guides on PHP's website. If you're looking for something you can install and use, try hotscripts.com. I usually go there when I'm looking for a general script I can use:

Reply:No, not PHP, you'll need to learn RSS and XML. The newest standard for RSS is RSS2.0. Here is a tutorial on XML from the W3C to help you get started.

RSS Feeder - Do the webmaster need manually to update the info?
I like to add RSS to my website but I like to know do I need to manually update each time I have new info on my site or it automatically update.
Thank You
RSS Feeder - Do the webmaster need manually to update the info?
You do not, but it requires some method translating the data into RSS. Yahoo! Answers, for example, has many automatic RSS feeds.
It depends on how your web site is set up now. Most blog sites such as LiveJournal generate RSS feeds automatically. So can content management systems such as Drupal or blog software like WordPress.
